 An existing Richard Neutra home (Van Cleef, 1942) had been unsympathetically added to and renovated in the 1980’s.  The current owner was interested in adding more space for his family, and bringing back the architectural rigor of the original home.  Working within a tight set-back and height envelope, we proposed two strategies: adding a new lower floor in the front or adding a second floor in the  back.  The images you see here reflect both schemes.
