The Miradero residence was originally designed for a Hollywood producer who was forced to sell the property prior to the completion of the construction documents. Fortunately, the subsequent buyer of the property wanted to build the house and did so with only a few interior modifications. The 4,500 sf house is comprised of a set of carefully arranged planes and volumes set on a dramatically elevated spur of land overlooking the Los Angeles basin. Referred to by many as “the jewel box” owing to its finely articulated detailing, the house expresses its quiet luxury through white terrazzo floors, black walnut wall paneling, and imported limestone.
